Frequently Asked Questions!
When should I arrive and leave?
Activities start on Friday (4/6) so try to arrive no later than 4PM in order to have time to check-in before the weekend! Official Vegas Inter-MBA Social events end Saturday night (or, for most, early Sunday morning), so you can leave any time Sunday. Please be aware that the Delano has a check out time of 11AM.
What's going on on Thursday (4/5) and Sunday (4/8)?
While there is nothing officially planned for Thursday or Sunday, there are plenty of fellow MBAs who will be arriving early and/or staying longer. The planning committee will aim to keep a pulse on what's happening and suggest meet-ups, but definitely feel free to take the initiative to rally others via our Facebook event!
Is this the same event hosted by ABA from CBS?
Unfortunately no, CBS has decided to run their own event this year and their event is not the same as ours :( - we come to vendors and event venues with a certain number of tickets and through a group scale discount we can't add anyone who didn't buy tickets through us. Feel free to check them out as well, but we do hope you'll join us!
Can I join certain parts of the trip without purchasing the full ticket such as getting in on the hotel discounts, only joining the pregame, dayclub etc?
Unfortunately, no. We will be giving out wristbands (which cannot be removed throughout the weekend), which have to be worn for the pre-game and to access our VIP areas at the clubs. The hotel will also be screening for those who did not purchase a ticket and may forfeit the reservation. If you want to take part in any of the activities and stay at the Delano, purchasing the ticket will actually end up saving you money!
Note: We have to reiterate that all our events, VIP areas at clubs, mixers, are limited exclusively to wristband holders and a strict entry policy will be strictly enforced. Wristbands will only be distributed to ticket holders of our official event.
What is the Pre-Club Networking Mingle?
We have a handful of Delano Executive Suites that will be hosting pre-games with plenty of drinks. We will make sure there is a good mix of schools within each suite! You will receive your pre-game room upon checking in with the Vegas team.
What are Vegas Pods?
Pods are an initiative we started to boost cross-school mixing. For participants interested, we ask that you fill out the 3 minute survey (which will be sent at a later date) and you will be matched with a small group of 8-10 people from various MBA schools with similar personal/professional interests and/or individuals who are planning to be in the same city as you this summer (or thereafter, for 2Ys). You will receive your Pod assignment 2-3 weeks before the actual event which gives the Pod sufficient time to get to know each other and make plans for the best weekend of the year!
How much time will I be spending with my Pod?
You are not “required” to spend any specific amount of time with your Pod. However, an overwhelming number of individuals indicated that bonding with their Pods helped to make the weekend that much more memorable and enjoyable. We recommend that Pods arrange to meet for dinner on one or both of the nights, but again, you may spend as much or as little time as you want with them.
Can I stay somewhere other than the Delano?
Of course! However, we have organized a block of discounted one-bedroom suites at the Delano and encourage you to stay there! These rooms will include discounted spa services at the Delano as well as access to the exclusive Mandalay Bay Beach, with a real sand beach, lazy river, wave pool, and "toptional" adult beach! Furthermore, we’ve planned many of the weekend activities (including check-in and pre-games) at/around the Delano for convenience.
Why are the hotel rates on my link different from the $150 and $195 mentioned?
The hotel rate is charged as an average per night rate of $172.50/night for the two nights (Friday and Saturday), and will aggregate taxes and resort fees as you book your reservation. Please note that if you list more than 2 guests in your room (king OR double queen beds), the hotel will charge you for each additional guest a per night rate.
If I can’t make it, what is the refund policy?
We will try our best to help accommodate individual situations, but unfortunately, the tickets are non-refundable due to the nature of the event requiring us to pay vendors and clubs upfront in order to secure our space and guarantee entry for such a large group. We are unable to provide refunds, however tickets are transferable and we encourage you to try and sell yours if something should come up.
